But there is one thing that we’ve noticed that users are always pointing out. If they see it – of course.

It is about those little big details. Though you can sometimes even miss them, once you see them they provide you with certain emotions of gratification and satisfaction. Again, if they have been crafted with passion and sense.

Today, I’d like to share one of those little details that we have introduced for the first time last week at WebFest.me conference in Budva, Montenegro. Internally we call it “flashing logo”.

We wanted to provide speakers and other distinguished guests with somewhat special treatment and user experience. In the sea of tweets, sometimes it makes sense to make sure that some of them are different. We’ve been experimenting with this approach for a while now – first case was with our client European Union – they wanted to have tweet from President Herman Van Rompuy to appear in typical European blue background with yellow stars. But that was just the beginning. Few weeks ago, famous DJ Tiësto asked for a similar thing – to have his tweets appear differently from others. And we did it…

However, we’ve been trying to figure out next little big thing that no one has asked for but that will undoubtfully make users happy. Then our Creative Director, Antun Debak suggested that we add “flashing logos” – basically, very simple feature that would show logo in the header of the tweet. For example, our friends from Netokracija had their own logo, journalist, bloggers and speakers have their logos or logos of their companies. Other had the generic .Me logo.

Wall of Tweets with flashing "Netokracija" logo featuring @blackshtef

Thing was a hit. We never announced it upfront, we waited and listened to the feedback and when people have started noticing it, they started to tweet about it – thus helped spreading the word about the product, its feature and conference.

Also, once again we got the confirmation that, while it is OK to listen to the users and provide them with what they want, it’s even better to anticipate their needs and provide them with what they will want when they see it. Creating the desire and related emotional response is something that can drive loyalty, change and build passion.

Wall of Tweets – best twitterwall is now free for all Ignite events

Blog

events

ignite

sponsors

wall of tweets

Here at UX Passion our Wall of Tweets team strongly believes in giving back to the community and supporting valuable events, ideas and different other forms of creative expression. Of course, this means that TEDx events are still supported by us, now we just have a new member of the family, so to say…

So, as of today, Ignite event organizers – let’s hear from you and we will support your Ignite events worldwide!

About Ignite

This is official description from Ignite website – no better way to get a heads-up on Ignite…

Wall of tweets is now available, free of charge for all Ignite events

„Started by Brady Forrest, Technology Evangelist for O’Reilly Media, and Bre Pettis of Etsy.com, formerly of MAKE Magazine, Ignite was inspired by Pecha Kucha Nights, where speakers are given 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds, giving each speaker 6 minutes and 40 seconds of fame. The first Ignite took place in Seattle in 2006, and since then the event has become an international phenomenon, with gatherings in Helsinki, Finland; Paris, France; New York, New York; and many other locations.

Ignite has two parts: the Ignite contest, where people make things, and Ignite talks, where presenters get 20 slides and five minutes to make their point. You can opt to only have talks, but the contest is fun and can serve as a great warm-up for the talks.“

Why now?

We’ve been approached by Ignite organizers several times, we’ve even already supported events in London, and today marks the point where we’d love to extend this globally.

Our thanks and big HELLO and THANKS from Zagreb goes to Richard – we’ve been working with Ignite London guys and last time it was with their 4th Ignite London – part of the Global Ignite Week. Looking forward to work with you guys again soon and, now, to support other Ignite events as well!

So, without any further ado – if you are Ignite event organizer – let us know about your event at wotATwalloftweets.net and we will envision, design and build beautiful Wall of Tweets twitterwall experience for your event. It’s free for you, we will cover hosting, support, design and other related costs. All you need to have on your end is Internet connection and a Mac or a PC. It’s all about the real human voice and that’s why all our blog posts are written by my team members here at UX Passion – in their own words.

So, today, I have two major and very exciting announcements to share with you. Our Wall of Tweets twitterwall solution is running at the 41st World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It’s a part of their Social Media Corner and it’s been highly customized for this occasion. We’ve teamed up with WEF’s team to provide best possible Twitter experience for their journalists, their guests and all attendees. And we are talking about names like Claus Schwab, CEOs of most successful and prominent companies, world leaders, presidents, ministers…

So, here’s more about it…

World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos - Powered by Wall of Tweets

We’ve even got support from Twitter (thank you guys a lot, your help, support and advices have been invaluable to us!) from the technical point of view – and so it was challenging and thrilling for us to innovate on this platform. Several days ago I’ve been writing about how we are inspired by our customers and their expectations – now I can say that one of those customers was World Economic Forum for their prestigious Davos 2011 conference.

Participation in the WEF’s Annual Meeting is by invitation only and is limited to:

Chief executives of the world’s leading global businesses, representing the Forum’s 1,000 Member companies

Politicians from the G20 and other key countries – including over 30 heads of state and government

The heads of all major international organizations

The chairs of the 72 Global Agenda Councils, representing a network of over 1,200 experts

Representatives from civil society stakeholder groups

Media leaders representing the top news organizations from around the world

Young Global Leaders

Social Entrepreneurs

Technology Pioneers

Spiritual and cultural leaders

Sounds like a great place for our Wall of Tweets to be!

And this is not all – this very same week we are running at Macworld 2011 together with our friends from NAVIGON. In 1991, NAVIGON introduced the world’s first dynamic GPS navigation system. Their pioneering spirit from back then remains their driving force today, constantly impelling them to develop new and improved solutions. Their goal: to continuously optimize the quality and safety of our products for our customers.

NAVIGON at Macworld 2011 is supported by Wall of Tweets as well

They are building on innovation, sustainability and many years of experience and setting the new benchmarks in navigation with quality, a focus on the future and design.

I dare to ask myself – Can I ask for a better and more interesting and inspiring clients?

To have such an opportunity to have your product running on Davos and Macworld is just – I’m missing a better word – mind-blowing but also something that makes you feel humbled in a healthy and smart way. In fact, many new spectacular features we’ve announced a while ago have been proposed by our customers and they have had the direct opportunity to interact with our product design team and share their feelings.

Today, I’m proud to announce several new features and improvements that have been added to Wall of Tweets v 2.0 as of today. They are still going through some testing but feedback and first results are really promising. Wow, I’m always excited like a little kid when I’m making announcement like this one (I don’t want to lose this feeling. Ever.)

So, without any further ado…

1. Support for Twitter List API – until now you have been able to show tweets containing specific word, hashtag, tweets from specific user(s) or any combination. But now, you can show all tweets from the specific Twitter List of people. It’s especially useful for events where you want to showcase only confirmed attendees or you have some culture of curated content. Our major client (we will announce the name and nice PR next week) has come up with this request – and we were delighted to add this ability. Team was working on this for hours, we’ve pulled several all-nighters but hey – we now support Twitter Lists – and that’s just very neat! Beautiful!

2. List Importer – Import Twitter users from Excel to Twitter List – Related to our newly announced support for Twitter Lists – we’ve decided to go one step further – and also, this is something that was requested from our wonderful client – they have had Excel file with several hundred Twitter names attending their conference and they wanted to add those names to specific Twitter List. Imagine adding almost 400 names, manually, one by one to create really great Twitter list… Let’s say you need 20 seconds per name – that’s about 8000 seconds – or 134 minutes without taking any breaks, making no mistakes and just frantically typing, typing, typing…

Wall of Tweets List Importer - from Excel or txt to Twitter List

Well, not anymore – we’ve built cool Twitter application called WOT List Importer (mind the FatDUX Zagreb name, we are now UX Passion and FatDUX Zagreb is history) – it will take your Excel file and add all users from that file into the list of your choice. How much time does it take, you ask? Less than 2 minutes for 500 users… Beat that! It’s magical!

And there’s one more thing. Oh boy, you’ll love this one!

3. Simple moderation capabilities from your iPhone/iPad/iPad Touch, Android, Windows Phone 7 mobile device – Imagine this – you are the organizer of a really serious and important event. Of course, you are using Wall of Tweets as a Twitter backchannel for your event and everything is going just nice. At some point you notice that some user, let’ say @DPiXXX is spamming your Wall of Tweets with some profanities – “I gotta ya!” you say – you are grabbing your mobile device, opening our simple moderation app and you are adding that user to your “Blacklist” – boom, he’s gone – his tweets will never again appear on your Wall of Tweets. Apart for adding users to the blacklist, you can add specific hashtags, words, turn off Paper.li, Foursquare and Gowalla notifications. Your life as a PR / Social media / event organizer guy or girl just got better. Just wonderful!

It’s so simple. Powerfully simple. And that’s why I know you will love it!

Wall of Tweets 2 Beta is here – learn about new spectacular features

Blog

beta

twitter

twitter wall

twitterwall

v 2.0

wall of tweets

Hi there, this is Vibor from UX Passion team! Wow, what weeks we’ve had! I’m so excited to be able to share with you some of the news we have right now.

As you know, and Antun was blogging about this earlier, we’ve been working on a second, new, version of our Wall of Tweets twitterwall product. After literally hundred installations and clients, large and small, it was time to gather the feedback and start from the scratch.

And today – new Wall of Tweets 2 (still in beta) is available. After hundreds of hours, bunch of sleepless nights, few thousands lines of code, dozens of users being tested and some 100 000 tweets caught in WoT… Numbers are impressive!

Learn what’s new!

What’s new?

I don’t know where to start from – but here’s the list of my favorite TOP 5 new features we have in our Wall of Tweets – best twitterwall solution available…

Moderation capabilities and SentiMent feature – you need full control of the tweets on your event, need to whitelist some users or block others? Need automatic filtering capabilities – for naughty users or tweets containing profanities or expressions you don’t want to appear? We offer this now! It’s really awesome feature and one of the top requests we’ve had! It’s powerful, easy to use and just plain awesome!

Images, images everywhere – you tweet and you tweet with pictures? No problem, we will display those as well! Plixi support? Sure? Twetphoto and TwitPic? Absolutely! YFrog?! You bet! Even if your tweet contains 2, 3 or 5 images – we will show then all. It looks just gorgeous on the big screen.

Revolutionary improved Top Tweeps list – we will now show top 10 tweeps, but only the top 3 will be awarded WoT Rank and will have their information featured – like their bio, number of followers, friends, tweets – it’s absolutely beautiful and nice feature. Information is displayed in really engaging animations and transitions – one of the Wall of Tweets pillars!

Big, bold avatars – say goodbye to small, blurry images – welcome the nice, rich, bold avatars! We have made significant improvements in this area – all images are now pulled in high resolution and the user experience is just terrific.

Digital signage features – this is huge one! Do you want to display your event agenda? Need to say when is the next presentation or you just wanted to show some really important message to the conference or event attendees? We now support this! It can be image, text, video, audio – or any combination. As we love to say: “If it’s digital, we can add it!”. This was one of the most requested features and we are happy to have it available for you. Right now! Just imagine the possibilities – sponsor videos, weather forecast, conference agenda, information regarding the timetables or any announcement you’d like to make!
